HH Dalai Lama Notes (These are my notes from the day:  Dalai Lama’s words in red)

Berkley, CA       February 23, 2014

[Dalai Lama arrives 30 min late onto stage without ceremony]

“Hi!  So.  It was delayed.  I have to say something at Tibetan center.”

Intro:  Thank you to Dalai Lama who will nurture our hearts and clarify our wisdom.

Tibetan & US National anthems sung by youth choir in Tibetan traditional dress.

Intro by Congresswoman to the 13th congressional district:  We are honored by your presence here in the birthplace of the free speech movement; the heart and soul of the peace movement in the United States. [Dalai Lama walks Congresswoman over and places her in his wide stuffed chair, they sit together for a few moments then the talk begins when he returns to podium]

“Oh, that light very strong!”  walks over to chair, gets visor (color matches garb).

Notes:

We need a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood.

Too much emphasis on “I’m Tibetan.  I’m Dalai Lama”

Emotionally and physically we are the same.

We all want happy days and nights.

I am just a man.

East meet west

West meet east

One world

Good harmony make good world.

We need to work together.

A sense of Oneness.

No hard work, no preparation, whatever come is new.  POP, here it is!

Congresswoman, you put too much emphasis on my specialness;  I am just a human being.

So, how to achieve happiness?  Money? Education? Good Name?

Money only gives facility for physical comfort.

Genuine happiness is internal.

Happy mind is important factor in happy body.

Pay more attention to compassion.  Sense of Oneness for humanity.

Practice love and compassion

Silence like a catholic monk

Try to become compassionate human being.

We all created by God.  One Source.

We all have spark of God, the spark is infinite love.

If you do good; you benefit.

If you are compassionate; you benefit.

Pray to God, very important but most important, be compassionate.

Practice love, philosophy doesn’t matter.

India is one living example of many religions; respect each other.

Occasionally some problem.

Secular is respect all religion and all things, plus respect non-believers.

India constitution based on secular;  secularism.

(Eva:  hot, sleepy, hungry, can’t hear well…….oh well)

Religion means practice of love.

No human being is against love.

Ruling elite think special for blessing.

Have courage in the face of religious institution.

Be compassionate to non-believer.

Questions (Dalai Lama now seated in overstuffed chair with Congresswoman):

How can I motivate my child to be happy and do better at homework?

DL:  First, let me marry (laughter) then I tell you.

You show love and explain things.

Can you speak about death?  Is there a fact or is it just beliefs?

DL:  No beginning.  No end.  Death just change into new clothes.

        Self always.

        Same soul, new clothes/body

       Death: liberated from the body

Hate into Love is liberated from emotion

       Must keep calm mind.

Faith most important, think in compassion

Quite sure we meditate on love we go to heaven, daily practice.

What do you do all day?  What do you do for fun? (from Savannah Lisle)

DL:  Eating.

I get up early for breakfast, not for meditation (grins and cackles)

Dedicate body, speech, mind to love.

This is my fulfillment of my center purpose.

I had an amazing experience extending love to my thoughts this morning.  After a period of being very aware of my protein drink; the coldness; creaminess; how the straw felt; the glory and mystery of swallowing; my cells each absorbing the nutrition; I was completely aware of,  in short,  the miracle of breakfast.  at this point I became aware of deeper, more emotional thoughts and saw instantly this scene:

“I was at a cotillion by a lake.  I could see the night sky fading and the outdoor deck festooned in paper lanterns.  I could hear light orchestral music playing and see guest mingling, chatting, laughing.  I was wearing a summer frock worthy of a Doris Day film, sleeveless, pouf skirt and white.  I was welcoming each guest, each thought, as it arrived.  I was quite surprised when  Hatred arrived looking for all the world like a dear friend.  I didn’t know what to do, Hatred had not been invited but I was committed to welcoming all guest, expected or not.  What struck me was Hatred’s beauty.  It was disconcerting to feel Hatred  as beautiful.

Next arrived Itching (my ears, nose, eyes), a dwarf drawing all kinds of attention.  I ushered him in, got him a glass of punch and introduced him to another guest.  Then I saw the thought guest “I must get things taken care of”, who was dressed as a maid, in a black dress with starched white apron and sensible shoes.  I came up to her and said “I am so happy you are here, please join the party.”  I took her apron, and gave her strappy black sandals and a glittering sequined shawl.  She took her hair out of the bun and let it fall loosely about her shoulders.  I was stunned at her beauty and regal nature.  How does she keep that covered and dialed down while in service?

At this point my daughter actually came into my meditation room to ask a question.  I saw her, too, as a thought guest at the cotillion, completely unaware of the ripples her arrival caused.

I felt rather than saw the next guest to arrive.  I turn to my left and gliding down the path along the lake, leading to the pavilion, illuminated only by starlight and the glow of the paper lanterns was a beautiful man.  A figure somewhere between Jesus and a European St.Nicholas in white and sage robes, wearing a wreath of leaves and flowers on his head, emanating utter peace.  All party goers turned in unison to greet the unexpected delight of his arrival.  The place came alive as if touched by a wand.  The guises of thoughts and roles dropped in the face of sheer wonder and pleasure and warmth and love for one another.  I saw the sparkling cloak of the night sky illuminate the shore, the night, the surrounding mountains, the country, the world and the galaxy.

He is here!  He came!!

We can be ourselves, we don’t need to pretend any more!

Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!!!  Amen & Hallelujah!!!!”

Thus finished my extending love practice.  My heart was light, full and emanating joy.  I entered my day with purpose, welcome and an unwrinkled brow.  Let’s hear it for step one, extending love to your thoughts!

In my preparation for the new class for Voice for Love I was at turns, excited, nervous, thrilled, terrified…..all the usual attendant thoughts with a new endeavor.  My own class was such a year of incredible transformation for me that I began speculating on what being a mentor in the class might mean.  It is always exciting to speculate about the future, the unknown and the circumstances that might be brought about to affect the very experience I desire.  I have been assured by Holy Spirit that the theme this year is “Joy” even as last year’s theme was “Peace”.  Now, picture me shifting in my chair, fidgeting, drinking coffee etc all in the guise of “quiet time”, my time of meditation,  prayer and practice of extending love to my thoughts.  I was arrested mid fidget with what I spied in my coffee cup.  A perfect reflection of Stillness Reveals TruthMary in full color.  I had never noticed this before though I sit in my study daily with coffee in hand.  I have a beautiful painting of Mary hanging over my desk and ONLY IN STILLNESS did I see the sweet reflection.  In that moment all my fears and fidgets drained away as the last of the bath water gurgles swiftly out of the tub.  I was instantly returned to my own stillness and truth.

I love the memory of how truth and beauty is reflected in the state of stillness.  No wonder we are called to stillness.  The beauty and truth are of course already present but we cannot see it for ourselves unless we commit to b.e..i..n….g….s…..t……..i….l………..l.

These words given to me that morning seem meant now for the new students and staff in the Voice for Love:

“Enjoy all the forms created by love, for love, in love.

Let yourself be loved even as you love.

You are here to receive your Self as much as to be yourself.

This much is true.

You were/are/will be designed for great joy–an endless, eternal capacity for joy.

Be ready in your willingess to feel that which you are yet unaccustomed to–

Pure

overflowing

rightness

of what IS.”

When I asked HS to confirm (or not) my desire to participate in the 6 mo. program of Hearing the Voice for God, this is what I heard:

“I am the divine call you are listening to.

You are ready to truly step into your role as Love Provider, Mirth Maker and Jelly Bean Consultant.

This is not a hard decision, it is easy and soft–a breath of air, the next step, a note, a color, a word you already love.

Be not afraid to learn.

learning is the essence of teaching and this is your opportunity to experience both.

These are your peeps.

They already love you.

You already love them.

There is no reason to deny yourself any longer.

You get to decide the color of your love but your loving and your belovedness are already a sure thing.  That cannot be changed; it never could be changed.

This is the fun part, you can ask me anything: financial questions, medical questions, activities issues, marital issues, friendship issue, dog issues.

There is nothing that needs to be left out of our relationship.

This program is run with love by your brother and sister in Christ.

They have waited a long time to commit in this way.

Together you will make history.

All who come on this call will be there as if by appointment.

There is no worrying there won’t be enough people.

Only one is needed, you own Self.

All else will be added to you.”

I added:  I am feeling relaxed.

HS cont:

“That’s perfect.

Willingness is very relaxing.

the receiver and the giver are the same Presence.

You can access Me either way.

It matters not who is the teacher and who is the student.

Both come in willingness.

Both come in Love.

Both come in Openness.

Both come.

BOTH COME.

That is the point.  BOTH COME.

Lawd Hallelujah!”

Last night was the “Preview Call” to the “Hearing the Voice for God” (www.hearingthevoiceforgod.com) Certification Program.  This is essentially a six month program in the holy relationship with Holy Spirit.  Since we already ARE love and simply tend to block the experience of being aware of it this program will be a bit like when Michael at 3in1 come to cleanse my computer of gunk so it runs fast, clean and faithful.  This is my desire, that my experience of life runs fast and clean and faithful.

I will be chronicling my experience both of the program and the actual hearing the voice for God.  I know, that second bit sounds goofy, but so what ?   Isn’t that REALLY what we all want?  To actually hear the Voice of God.  Of course it is no surprize the Voice for God IS the Voice for Love.  So come back again and again to my blog to hear and see what this looks like, this willingness to hear God in my heart.  Whoa, I guess Jesus was right (go figure)  the Kingdom of God really is within.
